2026 and Beyond

Did you miss me?

It’s been a quiet couple of years at Historically Woman, but before we get into that, happy International Women’s Day! I hope you’re all doing well, and of course a very happy Lent and Ramadan to all those who are celebrating.

There are a few reasons for the inactivity, not least a full-time job. But there have been a few changes in my personal life recently and I thought there was no better time, and no better day, to bring the blog back. Of course, there is still a little way to go before I’m back to a proper schedule, but in the meantime I aim to start posting on Instagram more, and there will also be continual updates to the website.

Firstly, as some of you may have already noticed, Historically Woman now has its own domain! Mostly I think this just looks really cool, but it also means that there is more I can do with the site now which is exciting.

Next, I have spent the last couple of years compiling an extensive, and, in fact, overflowing, database of topics to feature on the blog and/or social media. I have options from every country in the world, so hopefully the blog will become more and more diverse as we go on.

Finally (and here’s another reason for the aforementioned quietness), I decided to translate the entire blog into Spanish. I am a qualified linguist, so all translations are done manually by myself which, as I’m sure you can imagine, is a time consuming task, but most of the hard work is already completed. Not every post or page currently has an uploaded translation, but these are slowly but surely coming, and all future posts will be published simultaneously in English and Spanish.

Spanish is currently the only additional language on the blog as it is the only one other than English that I speak fluently. If I ever reach such a standard in another language, then that will hopefully be added too, but I will not be using machine translation or AI.

Regarding AI, I am strictly against it in my personal life and I do not willingly use it in any capacity. To the best of my knowledge, there will be no AI-generated text or images featured on this blog at all and, as always, I will do my best to extensively verify anything I write before posting.

Instagram posts should resume next week, and blog posts will hopefully follow shortly after. Now, I think that’s all the admin out of the way, so all that’s left is for me to thank you all, whether you’re a new reader or you’ve stuck with me all this time, and to welcome you into this new era of Historically Woman!

See you very soon!
